Birds on the water

I celebrated Earth Day with Athena residents at the new wastewater treatment wetlands. It's not as bad as it sounds. It was actually quite nice.
Even though the wetlands are less than a year old (I think) birds are already flocking there, at least in small numbers.
It was a good way to spend a nice spring day.

Pastel sky, dark wheat

I'm not sure what it is about Weston, but sometimes when I leave there at sunset, it has the most amazing colors in the sky.
This was last Saturday, when it was very windy outside. The wheat in the foreground is only a few inches tall, but the wind was whipping it around like whitecaps on a lake.
Even in the few minutes I took to snap a few photos of the amazing cloud, the colors changed, getting darker and darker as the sun sank below the opposite horizon. Had I been a few minutes later, I would have missed it entirely.
